Boiler Problems

I had been planning to call and have my boiler inspected before winter. It had been a few years since the last inspection and did not want an emergency after the snow flies. With all the rain we have been having I decided to turn up the heat - I normally keep it turned off during the summer. When I turned up the thermostat it did not heat up so I nudged it up a few more degrees. Finally I checked the registers and they were cold - no heat for me! It was actually warmer outside than in the house and the garage was warmer still! What a blessing that it is August and not January!

When I called the plumbing company to get it fixed, their next opening was not for almost a week! The timing was fine because my boss has been out of town and it would not have been a good time to leave for a few hours. My appointment is.... tomorrow!! I am looking forward to a nice warm house when the need arises. I have been sleeping with a heating pad, several layers of blankets AND hot flashes!! Finally I have put them to good use!

Jessica's Birthday

Today is the 24th birthday of my Great-Niece Jessica Diane Iverson. Jessica was her mothers 8th pregnancy. Previous to Jessica's conception, Christy had 4 miscarriages and 3 live births. The last baby lived less than 24 hours. The Dr., certain that Christy could not carry the baby long enough for her to be born healthy, encourage her to abort the baby. Christy refused, wanting to give the baby a chance to survive. I went to my church and the Body of Christ began praying.

Jessica was born 12 weeks early and weighed in at a whopping 3lb 3oz. Lots of prayer during the pregnancy and all those weeks in the NICU resulted in a beautiful and very healthy little girl.

Jessica thrived, graduated with honors from high school and the university. During her time at WSU she became a follower of our Savior Jesus Christ.

I am so proud of the woman she has become and am grateful to God for her life.

Happy birthday sweet Jessica. i love you very much.

Sunshine

What a beautiful day in Anchorage! I could handle this weather until December!

Sorry about that

tried to do something with the blog and - yuck!

The "LONGEST" day of the year!

Another beautiful sunny day in Anchorage. The sunshine renews my energy and the Son renews my spirit. Thank You Lord for both!

Today is the" longest" day of the year. Midnight golf, baseball and fireworks that can not be seen because the sun is still shining!

It was also 37 years ago that my mother died. Yesterday I left lilac's at her grave and also my dad's. When I miss her I don't know if I miss who she was or if I miss the mommy I wish she had been. I certainly do not miss the drunk. I do miss the loving woman she could sometimes be when she was sober. Okay, now I am sad. Enough of this, back to to the beautiful sunshine.

What a lovely day it will be. The work day will be crazy! The building season is in full force and my sales staf is busy selling, selling, selling. It is such a good thing. Tonight there is a tour of the Anchorage Cemetary. Sounds odd but it tours the grave sites of the pioneers and elders. I think I just might go.

Blessings to anyone that stops by for a visit!

Saturday

I have felt so much love from my friends. I am awed by the people God had brought into my life.

Thank you Lord for opening my eyes!
