Boiler Problems

I had been planning to call and have my boiler inspected before winter. It had been a few years since the last inspection and did not want an emergency after the snow flies. With all the rain we have been having I decided to turn up the heat - I normally keep it turned off during the summer. When I turned up the thermostat it did not heat up so I nudged it up a few more degrees. Finally I checked the registers and they were cold - no heat for me! It was actually warmer outside than in the house and the garage was warmer still! What a blessing that it is August and not January!

When I called the plumbing company to get it fixed, their next opening was not for almost a week! The timing was fine because my boss has been out of town and it would not have been a good time to leave for a few hours. My appointment is.... tomorrow!! I am looking forward to a nice warm house when the need arises. I have been sleeping with a heating pad, several layers of blankets AND hot flashes!! Finally I have put them to good use!

  1. Hard to imagine trying to keep warm from my neck of the woods :) Happy that this will all be repaired now instead of when it is really cold!

  2. We've got a furnace and plenty of problems with it! I think a new furnace and a more efficient fireplace are in our future. With the frequency of power outages in my area of town, a fireplace is a must.

Hope the boiler is healthy again.
